_____________________________________Safety Committee Message
Hello ICRS families,
I am Katie Christiason, the school’s safety lead. I am sure you have seen our wonderful safety team around at pickup, one of the many things we focus on at school. Thank you to everyone of you who shows up following the rules we have in place to keep the kids safe. The awareness and involvement of parents is critical within our school community. For all of us, our children’s safety is a priority, and we wanted to share with you some of the safety measures we work on continually. The school has a close relationship with the Mount Vernon Police Department and other local authorities who notify us of any potential threats as well as assessing the safety of our campus. We have ongoing training involving compliance with the state’s school safety laws, threat assessments, emergency preparedness and the I love U Guys reunification method (https://iloveuguys.org/The-Standard-Reunification-Method.html). As a routine, we proactively evaluate and update our safety procedures and protocols. We all are working together for the same safety goals and welcome open communication from families. Many blessings to you all,

Student Council MessageThe Student Council’s primary role at ICRS is to provide service and spirit to the students of our school. We have representatives from 5th to 8th grade. We meet regularly to discuss how to improve our school community through service activities to support Martha's Place, Tri Parish Food Bank, and Catholic Relief Services. We help run fun events like the Luau and back to school night. We also run student-based fundraisers like Veterans Pantry and candy grams.

_____________________________________A Message from Mrs. Rutherford · Continued Look for our child's MAP scores in today's Brown Envelope. The teachers are using the scores to inform instruction - for each child, in small groups, and for each subject. MAP changed its norms this year, so your child's scores may look different than in the past. It's all about growth. We are committed to helping every ICRS student meet or exceed their growth goals this year.Blessings,
Sarah Rutherford
